Western Marine Shipyard Ltd. was established in 2000 in Chattogram. Its mother company, Western Marine Services Ltd., was formed by marine professionals specialised in ship repair and the export of marine supplies.
The yard is on the eastern bank of the Karnaphuli River, Chattogram. Our corporate office is at Amin Future Park, 7th Floor, 1440/A Strand Road, Chattogram-4100.
What began as a 1.5-acre yard for inland vessels now stands on 42 acres, modernised with hi-tech and heavy-tech machinery through an investment of Tk. 300 crore, and employs around 3,500 people.

Multipurpose cargo ships, inland container ships and tankers, passenger ships, Ro-Ro ferries, port utility vessels, tugs, offshore patrol vessels, fishing trawlers, barges, dredgers and landing craft.
Yes. Ship repair is the foundation our group was built on, and the yard also undertakes heavy engineering and steel fabrication work.
Yes. Our design office handles basic, detailed and production engineering, and we also work with international designers — Bay Cleaner-2, for example, was designed by Foreship Ltd., Helsinki.
We have delivered vessels to owners in Germany, Norway, Ecuador, New Zealand and Kenya, alongside domestic clients such as Chittagong Port Authority and BIWTC.
ISO 9001 for quality from Germanischer Lloyd (GL) and DNV, plus OHSAS 18000 for health & safety and ISO 14000 for the environment from Bureau Veritas.
We build to the rules of the classification society specified by the owner. Bay Cleaner-2, for example, was built to Germanischer Lloyd class.

Yes. The company is listed on the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges under the ticker WMSHIPYARD.
