BIRSHRESTHA, officially named after Bangladesh’s Bir Sreshtho Md. Ruhul Amin, is a roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) passenger ferry built by Western Marine Shipyard Ltd. for the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).
Delivered on 23 August 2011, the vessel was developed to carry passengers and motor vehicles across Bangladesh’s inland waterways. Its Ro-Ro configuration supports vehicle boarding and disembarkation, helping improve transport connectivity between river-connected communities.
